SUNNYSIDE, Wash. — One person is in custody as federal and city authorities continue their investigation into a threat to the downtown Bank of America.
Few details are available, but about 11:40 a.m. the Seventh Street bank received a threat by phone, said Charlotte Hinderlider, Sunnyside police spokeswoman.
The nature of the threat is unclear, she said.
Sunnyside detectives and FBI investigators are taking statements from employees inside the bank, which is still closed, Hinderlider said at 2 p.m..
However, the incident is over, she said.
It’s common practice for the FBI to lead bank incident investigations, Hinderlider said.
