Hazel Betker

Hazel Betker, 86, of Yakima died Tuesday at Summitview Health Care Center. Mrs. Betker was born in Kansas City, Kan.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Roemer and Rick Roemer, both of Davenport, Wash.; two daughters, Leona Murray of Philomath, Ore., and Sandy Nagle of Selah; a sister, Eunice Eslick of Selah; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel. Burial will follow in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.

 

Ramon Encinas

Ramon "Tim" Encinas, 49, of Yakima died Monday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. Encinas was born in Yakima.

Survivors include his parents, Faustino and Grace Ceballos; three brothers, Don Encinas Jr., Mark Encinas and Mark Gallegos; and a sister, Cherie Encinas.

Viewing will be from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at Holy Redeemer Church, followed by a funeral Mass at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors.

 

Roxine I. Fuerst

Roxine Idella Fuerst, 92, of Grandview died Tuesday. Mrs. Fuerst was born in Sunnyside. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Fuerst of Yakima; a daughter, Phyllis Lutz of Vancouver, Wash.; a brother, David Padgham of Prosser; two sisters, Pauline Shockley of Outlook and Birdene Lange of Sunnyside; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today in the chapel of Valley Hills Funeral Home of Sunnyside. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, also in the chapel. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery.

 

 

Maurisio Saldana

Maurisio Saldana, 45, of Grandview died Monday in Seattle.

Mr. Saldana was born in Mount Vernon, Wash., and raised in Grandview. He worked for Twin City Foods in Prosser and later for Saldana Trucking. For the past 14 years, he worked for Kenyon Zero Cold Storage in Grandview.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy; three sons, Maurisio Jr., Mathew and Max, all of Grandview; a daughter, Marlena of Grandview; a brother, Martin; three sisters, Marcie Morales and Malinda Mora, both of Grandview, and Margie Olivas of Naches; his grandmother, Rosa Saldana; and three granddaughters.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary at 6 p.m., all at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview. Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Blessed Sacrament Church in Grandview. Burial will follow in the Grandview Cemetery.

 

Michael A. Hudson

Michael A. Hudson, 70, of Yakima died Tuesday at Parkside Nursing Care Center in Union Gap.

Mr. Hudson was born in Little Rock, Ark. He worked in sales and was also branch manager for Cummins Northwest Diesel for many years.

Survivors include two sons, Marcus Hudson of Selah and Andrew Hudson of Yakima; a sister, Shirley Piquette of Kent, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel.
