YAKIMA, Wash. -- An east Yakima supermarket has been evacuated after a fire broke out in the store’s cooking area.
Firefighters were called out after smoke from the fire began circulating in the Safeway at 905 Mead Ave. shortly before 11 a.m.
Firefighters are setting up fans to remove smoke from the building.
The fire was apparently restricted to the cooking area and had been put out by automatic fire extinguishers by the time firefighters arrived.
Preliminary reports indicated there were no injuries.
