YAKIMA -- Yakima Valley Community College is presenting the Winter 2010 Jazz Concert tonight, featuring the YVCC Guitar Ensemble.
The free event will include contemporary and historic jazz. It will begin at 7 p.m. in the Kendall Hall Auditorium. Featured performers are Shal Seltzer and Rod Woolcock, both on guitar; Alan Matson, bass; Buddy Graham, drums; and James Durkee, conductor and guitar.
Durkee has headed the guitar studies program at YVCC since 1989. He also heads the guitar programs at Central Washington University and Walla Walla University.
