Wesley United sets rummage sale

Wesley United Methodist Church will hold its annual rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today

There will be clothing, dishware, home decor, games, kids toys, books, small electronics, jewelry and more. All items are priced to sell quickly. The proceeds will be used by the Wesley United Methodist Womens' group to fund church related projects and missions.

Documentary plays at Selah United

Selah United Methodist Church will screen "A Lion in the House" from 4 to 8:30 p.m. March 13. The documentary film details the lives of five American families who each have a child fighting cancer. Suggested donation is $5. Food and beverages will be available for an additional donation.

All proceeds benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Narayan and Janet perform tonight

Narayan and Janet will be performing "Music for Awakening" from 7 to 9:30 p.m. today at the Unity Spiritual Life Center.

There will be a blend of pop, world music, jazz, rhythm and blues, and Sanskrit chant. A $15 donation is requested.

Spaghetti feed, auction nears

Highland United Methodist is hosting its annual spaghetti feed and auction from 5 to 6:30 p.m. March 13.

The dinner includes spaghetti, salad, a drink and dessert. The proceeds will go to help the Highland food bank and other church- sponsored projects.

$1 Sunday aids Friday Night Live

New Hope Church is asking area churches to participate in $1 Sunday for Friday Night Live.

Friday Night Live has been feeding the homeless and hungry since October 2008.

Financial peace course starts soon

Yakima Foursquare Church is offering Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University class at 6:30 p.m. each Tuesday beginning March 23 and running for 13 weeks.

The classes teach principles of debt-free living and are open to everyone. A fee of $100 per family applies and includes all materials, plus lifetime membership to FPU.
