YAKIMA HERALD-REPUBLIC

BUENA, Wash. — A pilot was injured when his ultralight aircraft nose-dived late this afternoon at the Buena Airport on the Yakima Valley Highway, authorities said.

“The gentleman was doing some touch and gos,” said Capt. J.J. Ihnen of Yakima Fire District 5. “I believe he had just lifted back off and was climbing and apparently stalled it, and nosed it right into the ground.”

The crash was reported shortly before 5 p.m. today.

Ihnen said the man suffered some fractures to his lower extremities.
