PROSSER -- A White Swan couple was hospitalized Saturday when their pickup and trailer rolled on Interstate 82 about five miles east of Prosser, the Washington State Patrol said.

Eric Anderson, 64, was driving a 2002 Ford pickup towing a 37-foot fifth-wheel trailer east on I-82 about 1 p.m. He lost control and rolled both the pickup and trailer on the inside shoulder of the highway, the State Patrol said.

Anderson was taken to Prosser Memorial Hospital, where he was in good condition Saturday night, a nursing supervisor said.

Although the State Patrol said his wife, Anna Anderson, 62, was taken to the same hospital, a nursing supervisor said she wasn't there.

Both were wearing seat belts and inattentive driving is blamed for the accident that destroyed both the pickup and trailer, the State Patrol said.
