PROSSER, Wash. -- City officials are seeking volunteers to process responses from a citizen and business survey to be conducted in January.
The survey of about 40 questions will be mailed with utility bills to about 2,000 residents in the first week of January, said Prosser city administrator Charlie Bush.
Volunteers must have access to a computer with spreadsheet software to code survey answers. They are asked to volunteer between two and 10 hours each week in February.
"We are going to take anyone who is willing to help us," Bush said. "Last year, we only had one volunteer, and it's a lot of work."
The survey -- which will be distributed in English and Spanish -- was created last year to help city officials evaluate areas of high and low performance, allocate resources and improve services.
Last year, about 370 of about 2,000 surveys were returned, Bush said.
Those interested in volunteering can apply at City Hall, 601 Seventh St. For more information, contact Bush at 509-786-8217 or cbush@cityofprosser.com.
