Yakima Herald-Republic

WAPATO, Wash. — Authorities say a Yakima woman was injured this morning when she was rear-ended after slowing for a school bus.

Billie L. Cartwright, 40, was taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital after the 7:55 a.m. accident on southbound U.S. Highway 97, about two miles north of Wapato, according to a Washington State Patrol news release.

Authorities say Georgia E. Monjaraz, 63, of Yakima, was following too close in her 2007 Dodge Durango. Cartwright was driving a 2007 Honda Fit.

Hospital officials said Cartwright was not listed as a patient at noon today.
