YAKIMA, Wash. -- A man accused of driving off in a truck as a Yakima police officer was trying to arrest him was arraigned Monday on a first-degree assault charge.

Curtis Moore, 22, of Union Gap has been held at the Yakima County jail since the Nov. 19 incident on 10th Avenue south of Washington Avenue. His bail in the assault case was previously set at $100,000.

Officer Geoff Gronewald suffered a concussion and was briefly knocked out as he tried to remove Moore from the truck, which crashed into a nearby house and tipped over onto a car.

Moore was caught nearby.

Gronewald was released from the hospital the next day.
