Limo rides to see lights offered for toy donations

Yakima Herald-Republic

YAKIMA -- Since the sleigh is busy up at the North Pole, perhaps a limo down here will do.

The Salvation Army is offering free limousine rides Friday to see Christmas lights around town.

Tours begin at 5 p.m. in the parking lot in front of Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, 2706 Nob Hill Blvd.

Interested people are asked to bring a toy for the Toys for Tots program or a donation to go to a needy child.

This is the first time the Salvation Army has offered free limousine rides.

Four limousines have been lined up to provide one-hour tours of the lights; each vehicle seats eight.

According to the Salvation Army's Becki Barnett, the rides will continue until everyone is served.
