A jazz concert, featuring the Yakima Valley Community College guitar ensemble, will take place Thursday in the Kendall Hall Auditorium at the YVCC Yakima campus.
The event, directed by James Durkee, will begin at 7 p.m. The concert, which will feature contemporary and historic jazz, is free and open to the public.
Durkee, who conducts and plays guitar in the ensemble, has headed the guitar studies program at YVCC since 1989. He also heads the guitar programs at Central Washington University and Walla Walla University.
