YAKIMA, Wash. — A 28-year-old Yakima man died early Sunday after being thrown from his pickup when he left the road and rolled twice.

Buck Jones was driving east on Thorp Road, approximately four miles east of Yakima, about 2:20 a.m. when the accident occurred, according to a news release from the Washington State Patrol.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor, according to the State Patrol.

Jones died at the scene. A passenger, 24-year-old Elizabeth R. Nino of Yakima, was injured and was taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released Sunday morning.

According to the State Patrol, Jones’ 2001 Mazda pickup was approaching Interstate 82 when it failed to negotiate a curve to the right and left the roadway.
