Bilingual education forum scheduled in Wapato

YAKIMA HERALD-REPUBLIC

WAPATO, Wash. — A forum on bilingual education will be held Monday evening by the Wapato School District.

The school district has been under fire after scrapping its dual-language classes. It did so after saying that students in those classes lagged behind others in meeting state and federal standards for academic performance. But the district’s action has earned it the ire of some parents.

Monday’s forum will be at 6 p.m. at the Wapato Middle School, 505 Dove Lane.
