Mother of three needs help as she pursues education

Yakima Herald-Republic

A single mother of three who is pursuing her GED could use a little support this Christmas.

Her oldest girl is 13 and is on the honor roll in middle school. She loves to read and listen to music and would like to have an iPod and some art supplies. She also loves to shop at Target, so a gift card would be an ideal present.

The middle child -- a 5-year-old boy -- wears size 1 shoes (he would really like a pair of light-up shoes), size 7 shirts and size 6 pants. He also loves anything to do with superheroes, and would enjoy having a bike.

The youngest of the bunch is 1 and she outgrows clothes quickly. She wears clothing size 18-24 months and shoes that are size 5. She enjoys playing with baby dolls and ride-along toys.

With the mother working on her education certificate, a new or used computer would be especially helpful. She also is in need of clothes: size 1X shirts and size 16 pants.

The family would also benefit from household items, including laundry soap, diaper wipes and baby shampoo.

If you are able to help this family, please contact LaShaunda Harris at Triumph Treatment Center, at 509-248-1800. The agency will accept donations until
3 p.m. Christmas Eve.

Gifts and or donations can be dropped off at 102 S. Naches Ave. from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays.
