WAPATO -- Authorities said alcohol is to blame for an early morning rollover accident today that left two people injured.
The accident took place at 12:03 a.m. at the intersection of Ashue and Fort roads, about seven miles south of Wapato, according to a news release from the Washington State Patrol.
Authorities say Eddie L. Dick, 61, of White Swan was eastbound on Fort Road when he drove his 2008 four-door Suzuki off the road onto the right shoulder and rolled. The vehicle came to rest on its top.
Neither Dick nor his passenger, 44-year-old Angela Goudy of Toppenish, were wearing seat belts, according to the news release. Both were injured and taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Hospital officials said Dick was in satisfactory condition late this morning, and Goudy had been treated and released.
