YAKIMA, Wash. -- Authorities say a woman who was in a West Valley home when it caught fire Monday afternoon was injured and hospitalized.
Her injuries were not life-threatening, said Yakima battalion Chief Abel Castilleja, adding he was unsure whether she'd been released.
About two dozen firefighters from stations in Yakima and West Valley quickly put out the house fire in the 8100 block of Summitview Avenue, reported at 12:41 p.m., officials said.
The fire at the two-story house may have started in the rear of the building, possibly in the laundry room, Castilleja said. Investigators have not determined the cause.
The fire was knocked down in less than a half hour.
