Northwest country-rock favorites Star Anna and The Laughing Dogs return to Yakima today for a concert benefiting hunger relief agency Northwest Harvest.
Star Anna, whose bittersweet voice complements both the howling sadness of her rock numbers and the lonely lament of her ballads, has played Yakima a lot through the years. But she's always worth seeing again.
And this one, set for 7:30 tonight at the Yakima Valley Museum, is for a good cause. All proceeds go to Northwest Harvest, the Yakima agency that distributes food to the hungry.
So, you can attend the show because you like helping people, or you can attend because you want to check out the increasingly popular Ellensburg chanteuse and her rollicking band.
Either way, $10 and two cans or one large package of nonperishable food will get you in.
The museum is at 2105 Tieton Drive. For more information on the event, visit www.harvesttunes.com. For more information on Star Anna and The Laughing Dogs, visit www.staranna.com.
