YAKIMA, Wash. — A man with his face concealed with what looked like pantyhose tried to rob a Yakima pharmacy Monday evening, but he left empty-handed after the staff refused his demands, according to Yakima police.
Sgt. Tim Bardwell said police were called to Medicine Mart, 1112 W. Spruce St., about 6 p.m. Staff told police that a lone male entered the store and produced a note demanding narcotics. When the staff balked, the suspect fled on foot east on Spruce Street. Police searched the area but didn’t find him.
A weapon was not displayed during the robbery attempt, police say.
The suspect was described as a 20- to 30-year-old male, 5-foot 8-inches tall, with a medium build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. His race is undetermined.
Anybody with information is asked to call 509-575-6212.
Two weeks ago, a black male, 18- to 24-years old, displayed a handgun and robbed nearby Barton’s Pharmacy, 1011 W. Spruce St., of narcotics before fleeing.
WoW our local drug addicts are getting brave to actually try to rob a pharmacy for their next fix. Its good to now that the staff in the Medicine Mart is proactive and I am glad nobody was hurt.
Report ViolationHe wasn't a drug addict he was just really sick and needed meds.
Report ViolationOh ya, with a panty hose on his face.
Report ViolationHa ha ha ha...Good one Aurelius!!
Report ViolationOooh, I bet if we had socialized medicine he would have gotten the meds he needed and wouldn't have resorted to the life of crime. See, if we would have listened to Obamma and implemented the first draft of his health care reform this crime would have been prevented. hahaahaha
