SUNNYSIDE, Wash. — A pair of car-prowl suspects who were arrested this weekend had five car stereos and other stolen property when officers stopped their car, authorities said.
The suspects — a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man, both of Sunnyside — were arrested Saturday night on suspicion of misdemeanor theft, car prowling and possession of stolen property and burglary tools, according to a news release from the Sunnyside Police Department.
Police responded about 11 p.m. to the 3400 block of Picard Place, where they were told that several items had been stolen from a Honda Civic. A witness reported that the suspect may have a Dodge Neon, police said.
About 2:30 a.m. Sunday, a person reported a vehicle break-in in the 1400 block of Yakima Valley Highway.
Officers stopped a Dodge Neon that matched the description in the 200 block of Warehouse Avenue. Besides the stereos, compact discs, burglary tools and car accessories were found inside, according to the news release.
