Forum will focus on developmental disabilities

Yakima Herald-Republic

YAKIMA -- A legislative forum on developmental disabilities will be held Nov. 19 from 6-8 p.m. at the EPIC campus, 701 Superior Lane in Yakima.

Legislators from the 13th, 14th and 15th districts will be on hand to discuss such issues as the need for child care for developmentally disabled teens and the status of the Yakima Valley School, which was spared from closure by the 2009 Legislature.

Children are welcome but child care will not be available. For interpreter services, call Parent to Parent at 509-574-3260.

The forum is sponsored by the Arc of Yakima County and the Yakima County Interagency Coordinating Council, which is an effort to develop a coordinated system of health, social and education services for at-risk children and their families.
