YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima police arrested two men around 1:20 p.m. today in connection with a shooting at South Second Street and East Race Street.
One victim was hospitalized with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, said Yakima Police Capt. Rod Light.
Officers were waiting for an eyewitness to identify the suspects. Just after the shooting police believe the suspects drove east and abandoned their car near Washington Middle School and ran west to a house where the two suspects kicked in a door and tried to hide before being found by police.
During their investigation, police found the car as well as shoes, shirt and a handgun they believe belong to the suspects.

Another great bust on the spot by YPD. Way to go! 2 more down and about 4000 to go.
Report ViolationGreat job YPD!! and for anyone who gets mad if they are charged with Assault 1 vs attempted murder- its the same class of felony and carries the same prison sentence potential. It really doesn't make a difference. Assault 1 does count toward the 3 strike rule as well.

Great job trashman!! You found my garbage and picked it up on time!! I thought while we were complimenting people for doing their job, I might as well throw my 2 cents in.
Report ViolationGood job YPD. Keep after the violent criminals and prosecutors please give them the maximum penalty allowed. Yakima's level of violence is not acceptable. Zero tolerance for violence and gun crimes.
Report ViolationIt's time for Yakima County to demostrate what no gang tolerance is by having a 10 year minimum sentence for any gang related shooting or stabbing. Period. No plea bargining....No discussions.
Report ViolationUs older folks are getting a tad nervous about these ugly little cowards. I believe a public spanking would do wonders. Really show them that we don't respect them even a tiny bit.
