YAKIMA, Wash. -- An 18-year-old Yakima man suffered a minor arm wound in a gang-related shooting late Tuesday, police said.
Officers responded to the area of 24th and West Lincoln avenues about 11:45 p.m. to check on multiple reports of gunfire.
Minutes later, the gunshot victim was dropped off at a city hospital, where he was treated and later released.
Four people were in the car. The victims told police they were driving when an older red sport utility vehicle approached them head-on, then someone opened fire as the vehicle passed.
Bullets shattered the right rear passenger window before striking the man in the right arm, which he had used to cover his face, police said. Two small-caliber bullets were found in his sweatshirt.
Police identified two other occupants -- both men in their early 20s -- and said all three victims are known Yakima gang members.
Ho-hum. Just another verse to the same song.
I'm getting to the point that I could care less what happens to these puke gangers, just as long as they don't hurt innocent others in the process. I just wish that the taxpayers weren't to be stuck with their hospital bills, to save them so they can go back out an do it all again.
Until our State Legislature and Attorney General get off their cans and DO something that will provide law enforcement with the necessary tools to put these people out of business, we will just have to sit by - and duck - while the wild-west show goes on.
By now, it is obvious that what is going on here in Yakima is bush league. If you think for a second, you will realize that when the mafia war were waging in Chicago, New York, and Vegas, the federal government got into the act. We all remember the inspiring story of Mr. Hoover's G-men. In LA, the state (not bankrupt), DEA and other agencies came in to assist. So, since we don't get much help here, we are either a write off or bush league.
Report ViolationThis was reported in Wednesdays paper, and a bunch of people had comments. I was online late last night and left a comment in response to someone posting Youtube links of Yakima gang members showing off in Youtube videos. A few minutes later I refreshed the page and the article was gone. Now its back, and everyone's comments are gone. Strange?
Anyway, For anyone who didn't catch the Youtube post, just search that site for Yakima Gang, 509 Norteno, and you will see many Yakima gang member video's. Some are like music video's, some are of them "jumping in" newbies, boxing matches, street fights, pictures of gang groups at the cemetery. Quite interesting and I Hope YPD takes a look at those video's. These guys are filming themselves shooting high powered assault rifles-show their faces, even their vehicle license plates. Shouldn't be too hard to track them down.
YHR should publish the photo of the grafitti dork who got caught on camera.

Write your Govenor, Senators and other state Legislators and push for gangs to be put in the same category as terrorists. Then cops, FBI and other law enforcement agencies are forced to get rid of them. If not we will continue to see 30 murders a year, some of them innocent bystanders.
Report ViolationSounds like a plan, truth. As it now stands, I am classified as a "domestic terrorist", according to Napolitano, just because I am a law-abiding citizen, a staunch supporter of the constitution, am against the ObamaNation in general, against wanton abortion, and am a patriot who owns guns and believes in the 2nd Amendment.
I find that designation of me extremely hard to stomach, when all around where I live, gun battles rage in the streets by a bunch of hoodlum, worthless, posing, gangers, as bad as any old-time Mafioso, or worse from "Murder Inc.". At least THOSE guys had SOME respect for others, and didn't terrorize innocent bystanders.
Huh - don't be fooled - the Cartels are already here in reasonable force. The local gangs are simply their retail outlets for drugs.
Jay, good info. I plan to visit these places and do some downloading of faces.
