YAKIMA, Wash. -- County and state agencies will provide updates on the Oct. 11 Nile Valley landslide at a community meeting at 6 p.m. today at the Nile Valley Community Church, 60 Bedrock Lane.
Jim Hall, director of the Yakima County Office of Emergency Management, said officials will share information and answer questions.
Representatives of Yakima County and the state Department of Transportation will attend.
The slide covered State Route 410 and dammed the Naches River. The county is building a new river channel around the slide, and the Department of Transportation is overseeing construction of a new road expected to withstand winter weather.
