Man robs Yakima pharmacy of narcotics at gunpoint

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Authorities say a man in a blue Carhartt-type jacket robbed narcotics from a Yakima pharmacy Monday evening.

Yakima police are investigating the 5:10 p.m. robbery at Barton's Pharmacy, 1011 W. Spruce St.

The robber -- armed with a handgun -- gave a pharmacy employee a note demanding narcotics, patrol Sgt. Tony Bennett wrote in a news release. The employee handed over an undisclosed quantity of narcotics.

Nobody was injured during the robbery.

The robber is described as a 6-foot, 170-pound black man between 18 and 24 years old, with some facial hair, and wearing a blue jacket and black pants.
