YAKIMA -- Worried about your eyesight, hearing or blood pressure?

You can get them checked at a health screening in West Valley on Saturday.

The West Valley Lions Club -- along with the Seattle-based Northwest Lions Foundation -- is sponsoring the health checks from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the new West Valley Walmart store.

In addition to checking sight, hearing and blood pressure, the screening checks for glaucoma and diabetes.

The 62-foot-long Lions Health Screening Unit travels throughout Washington and northern Idaho, giving free health checks at schools, fairs and other events. Each year, the Lions provide screenings for almost 30,000 people, most of whom are schoolchildren.

The mobile health unit was at West Valley schools this week. And it's bound for Apple Valley Elementary on Monday and Summitview Elementary on Tuesday, before heading to Tieton. Earlier this month, the unit traveled to Mattawa, Goldendale, Thorp, Cle Elum and Ellensburg.
