Benjamin Franklin exhibit coming to Sunnyside Library
SUNNYSIDE -- A national traveling exhibition about Benjamin Franklin will come to the Sunnyside Library starting this weekend.
"Benjamin Franklin: In Search of a Better World," opens Saturday and runs through Dec. 4.
The exhibit is organized by the Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary in Philadelphia, the American Library Association and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Sunnyside is one of only 20 libraries to host the event. It will offer free programs and activities in connection to the exhibit. An opening day celebration will run 2-4 p.m. Saturday and feature Colonial period refreshments.
Other programs include lectures on Franklin as a politician and diplomat, science programs for children, movies a discussion on investing in hard times, crafts and a visit from the fire department.

Clore Wine and Culinary Center's first phase marked
PROSSER -- Backers of the Walter Clore Wine and Culinary Center will hold a site dedication Saturday to celebrate the first phase of construction.
So far, crews have nearly completed landscaping, parking and water and sewer lines for the wine education center, proposed for Wine Country Road overlooking the Yakima River.
The event will be 2-4 p.m. at the site.
Proponents are still raising money to build the facility.

Free movies start Friday at Goldendale's library
GOLDENDALE -- The Goldendale Community Library holds movie nights on Fridays starting this week.
The free movies, all about space exploration, run 6:30 p.m. Fridays through Nov. 13.
All movies in the series, called "Space Out!" are rated PG and are about space exploration.

Prosser Farmers Market seeks food bank donations
PROSSER -- The Prosser Farmers Market is collecting nonperishable food items for the Jubilee Ministries Food Bank.
The market, open 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays through the end of October, wants to fill its van with donated food.
Organizers will weigh the food after Oct. 31, the final day of the market.

Halloween Party Oct. 30 at Grandview Senior Center
GRANDVIEW -- The Grandview Senior Center will hold its annual Halloween Party on Oct. 30.
The festivities will begin at 10:30 a.m. with prizes, live music and a costume contest. Lunch will be at noon.
