From the Yakima Herald-Republic Online News.
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Students at Yakima Valley Community College could once apply for admission until the start of classes. Not anymore.
The college has enacted a new Aug. 27 admission deadline for the fall quarter. The process was developed to help students be better prepared to start their college career when classes begin Sept. 21.
After applying for admission, students must take tests to determine their placement in math, English and reading courses. They're also advised to complete the Free Application for Student Aid to see if they qualify for grants and/or student loans.
Once students have completed the application process and have taken the placement test, they will receive information on orientation, advising and registration.
