Yakima Herald-Republic

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Wal-Mart has started hiring for its new supercenter in West Valley that's expected to open in November.

To facilitate all the applications for the 380 available positions, the discount retailer has opened a temporary hiring center at the WorkSource Yakima office at 306 Division St. The center will accept applications between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Applicants may also go online to http://walmartstores.com/Careers/7745.aspx.

The store, located at 6600 W. Nob Hill Blvd., is accepting applications for both full- and part-time positions, including a few supervisory positions.

Wal-Mart has already hired a store manager, Kim Pierce. She has worked for the company since 2000, when she was hired as an assistant manager for a store in Kennewick.

Most of the workers hired will begin work in September to prepare for the store's opening.
