Mary L. Cox
Mary Lucille Cox, 83, of Ferndale, Calif., died June 30. Mrs.
Cox was born in Baileyville, Kan. She and her husband had a hog farm near Sunnyside.
Survivors include two sons, David Serafy-Cox and Leonard Cox; and two granddaughters.
Visitation will be from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. A memorial service will follow at
1 p.m. Thursday at Sunnyside First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
Jackie N. Monson
Jackie Nell Monson, 70, of Ellensburg died July 2 at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital. Mrs. Monson was born in Oklahoma and moved to Kittitas County as a child. She then lived in Roslyn, Seattle and the Everett, Wash., area until the early 1980s, when she returned to Ellensburg and managed the American Legion Hall.
Survivors include two daughters, Janell Kanyer and Jody Martin; a son, Jon C. Monson; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Ellensburg Legion Hall, 1101 N. Craig Ave. Arrangements are by Affordable Funeral Care of Ellensburg.
Justin E. Riebel (Reed)
Justin Edgar Riebel (Reed), 37, of Yakima died June 28 as the result of a plane crash near Rimrock Lake. Mr. Reed was born in Auburn, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, Natisha; a daughter, Julie; step-children, Brian Ornelas, Alexander, Terell, Jadienna and Karl; a brother, Michael Jerry Riebel Jr., and three half-siblings.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. July 18 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. A reception will follow the service at the 18 W. Washington Ave. clubhouse. Everyone is welcome to attend the service and reception. Arrangements are by Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home.
Robert Verhey
Robert (Bob) Verhey, 79, of Moxee died Wednesday at Gasseling Adult Family Home. Mr. Verhey was born in Seattle and served in the Army. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline (Jackie) Verhey of Moxee; three daughters, Sue Kropelnicki of Sammamish, Wash., Julie McNeal of Spokane and Carolyn Leeper of Albany, Ore.; a son, Dave Verhey of Moxee; a brother, Dr. Joseph Verhey of Seattle; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, also at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
June V. Weese
June Virginia Weese, 82, of Yakima died Wednesday at Highgate House. Mrs. Weese was born in Walla Walla. She moved to Yakima and retired after 32 years with Pacific Northwest Bell.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff Weese of Puyallup, Wash., and Jay Weese of Yakima; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. A private burial will follow.
