YAKIMA, Wash. -- There’s been some chatter in town that Best Buy may move to the former Linens ‘n Things space at the Valley Mall Plaza in Union Gap.

A couple of people mentioned it to me, so I chatted with Monte Neumeyer, general manager at the Yakima store, to find out. 

Neumeyer confirmed that the company is looking to expand its presence. Company officials have been in town looking at several sites. He couldn’t confirm whether Linens ‘n Things space was one of them, but didn’t deny that it wasn’t either.

There’s also the possibility of remodeling its existing location on First Avenue.

“We’ve kind of outgrown ourselves,” he said.

Additional space would enable the store to have more variety of existing product lines in stock and display the company’s new ones.
