YAKIMA -- The 2-year-old boy who died Friday after being found unresponsive at his Grandview home may have had an infection, according to results of an autospy Wednesday.
While Rayden Esquivel's official cause of death remains pending, he did not appear to have suffered any sort of trauma, such as head or abdominal injuries, Yakima County Coroner Jack Hawkins said.
Besides a toxicology exam, more tests will be conducted to determine the type of infection, Hawkins said.
The boy had been sick for more than a day before he was discovered unresponsive and taken to Sunnyside Community Hospital, authorities said.
Grandview police are investigating.
