YAKIMA, Wash. -- Construction will start in October on an underpass on Lincoln Avenue, a multi-million-dollar effort to deal with expected increases in railroad traffic through the city of Yakima.
Michael Morales, deputy director of the city’s Community and Economic Development department, said Monday construction will take about a year.
During construction, adjacent Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be modified to handle two-way traffic.
Currently one way eastbound, MLK also is destined to have an underpass constructed as a part of the overall project.
