SUNNYSIDE -- Police are seeking a 26-year-old man they say fled the scene of a two-car accident Saturday in a residential neighborhood.
Police identified the man as Omar Cerna of Sunnyside.
According to a police department news release issued Monday morning, Cerna was driving a Dodge Neon that was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck a Chevrolet Corsica in the intersection of South Seventh Street and Newhouse Avenue about 3 p.m.
The impact caused the Corsica to flip over in the yard of a home, pinning the 37-year-old driver. The driver, who was not identified, was taken to the Sunnyside Community Hospital for treatment.
The release said the driver of the other car fled the scene on foot.
Anyone with information is being asked to call the Sunnyside Police Department at 509-836-6200.
