CLE ELUM -- A 49-year-old Cle Elum motorcyclist was upgraded Monday to serious condition after a Sunday evening crash on Sunlight Drive, southeast of here, authorities said.
David Canady sustained facial injuries, head cuts, broken ribs and a punctured lung in the accident, which occurred at 5 p.m.
Canady had been listed in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was taken after the crash.
According to the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office, Canady was riding a Yamaha motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a curve. The cycle's front tire hit gravel and struck some large rocks. Canady was thrown approximately 25 feet.
