Guadalupe Vivanco
Guadalupe Vivanco, 77, of Wapato died Wednesday in Wapato. She was born in Jalisco, Mexico, and lived in Wapato for more than 40 years. She was a homemaker and cannery employee.
Survivors include her husband, Jesus Vivanco of Wapato; a son, Sergio Vivanco of Wapato; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Yakima. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Templo Jerusalem in Yakima. Burial will follow in the Wapato Reservation Cemetery.
James R. Adams
James R. "Jim" Adams, 81, of Prosser died Monday in Prosser. He was born in Chicago and enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1943. After being discharged as a corporal, he sold boat sonar and radar equipment. He settled in Prosser in 2001.
Survivors include a sister, Phyllis Bowgren of Palmetto, Fla.
At his request, there will be no public service. Arrangements are by Prosser Funeral Home & Crematory.
Jolene Riel
Jolene Riel, 78, of Terrace Heights died Thursday in Yakima. She was born in Yellville, Ark., and moved to Yakima as a child. She spent most of her life in the Toppenish and Yakima areas and was the former owner of Poochies.
Survivors include her husband, Delmer Riel of Terrace Heights; a son, Randall Joe Stackhouse of Yakima; two daughters, Teresa Blanche Marie Fischer of Wapato and Toni Christine Bowron of Terrace Heights; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at Holy Rosary Church in Moxee. The time and date will be announced in the obituary. Arrangements are by Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors.
Johnny A. Chambers
Johnny Alden Chambers, 55, of Selah died Thursday in Yakima. He was born in Georgetown, Ohio, grew up in Bothell, Wash., and settled in Selah. He last worked in maintenance for the Selah School District.
Survivors include a son, Curtis Chambers of Seattle; a daughter, Melissa Chambers of Providence, R.I.; his father, Richard Chambers of Monroe, Wash.; two brothers, Danny Chambers and Timmy Chambers, both of Monroe; and a sister, Becky Gibson of Redmond, Wash.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors.
William S. Hunter
William Stewart Hunter, 91, of Prosser died Tuesday in Prosser. He was born in Great Falls, Mont., and spent his youth in Helena, Mont. He became a Navy aviator in 1939 and was an aircraft carrier pilot. He worked as an air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Wenona Hunter of Prosser; two daughters, Jeanne Blahut of Prosser and Marsha Johnson of Arizona; and two grandchildren.
Private family services will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Prosser Funeral Home & Crematory.
