Abel -- 60 Years

Ed and Faye Abel will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary July 11 with a Mass in their honor and a renewal of wedding vows ceremony at 1 p.m. at Holy Family Church. A family gathering to honor them is planned July 12.

Edward Abel and Anna Faye Hegwood were married July 16, 1949, at St. Paul Cathedral in Yakima. They are lifelong Yakima residents.

The couple has six children, Ron Abel, Rick Abel, Karen Cyr and Kent Abel, all of Yakima, Mary Kroutch of Olathe, Kan., and Marla Barnes of Tieton. They also have 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

 

Chase -- 50 Years

Jerry and Joye Chase of Naches celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 27 with a dinner at the Chase homestead. The event was hosted by their children.

Jerry Chase and Joye Morris were married June 27, 1959, at the Naches Presbyterian Church. They have lived in the area more than 60 years.

Mr. Chase retired from the U.S. Department of Transportation. Mrs. Chase retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service.

The couple has three children, Kim of Maricopa, Ariz., Troy of Stanwood, Wash., and Penna of Naches. They also have seven grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

 

Sparks -- 50 Years

Norman "Norm" and Shirley Sparks celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 1 with family and friends.

Norman Sparks and Shirley Reeves were married July 1, 1959, at the West Valley Community Church at Harwood. The couple returned to the Valley in 1972.

Mr. Sparks served in the Navy and retired as a truck driver. Mrs. Sparks is retired after working in fruit warehouses.

The couple has three children, Dianna Davis, Lorena Hitchcock and Norman Sparks, all of East Valley. They also have six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two honorary grandchildren.

 

Antanaitis -- 30 Years

Theodore and Margaret Antanaitis of Selah are celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary today.

Theodore Antanaitis and Margaret Briggs were married July 5, 1979, in Pasadena, Md. They have lived in Selah for 21 years.

Mr. Antanaitis is a retired electronics engineer. Mrs. Antanaitis is a paraeducator for the Yakima School District.

The couple has three children, Benjamin Antanaitis of Huntersville, N.C., Robert Antanaitis of Lacey, Wash., and Laura Antanaitis of Puyallup, Wash. They also have one grandchild.

 

Robinson -- 50 Years

George and Lanette Robinson of Yakima will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception and a cruise to Alaska. The event will be hosted by their daughters.

George Robinson and Lanette Kay were married July 5, 1959, in Ellensburg. They have lived in the area for 40 years.

Mr. Robinson retired from the grocery business. Mrs. Robinson works in sewing and alterations.

The couple has two daughters, Debbie Hendrickson and Sheri Robinson, both of Yakima. They also have two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 

Horton -- 40 Years

Bud and Maggie Horton of Yakima celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary June 27 at a reception for family and friends, hosted by their children.

Bud Horton and Maggie Baumann were married July 4, 1969, in Selah.

Mrs. Horton is a retired paraprofessional with the Naches Valley School District. Mr. Horton is a retired civil engineer with the Naches Ranger District

They have two children, Jason Horton of Selah and Michelle Gottfried of Yakima. They also have six grandchildren.

 

Beaulaurier -- 62 Years

Paul and Alyce Beaulaurier celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary June 30 with a family gathering hosted by their children and grandchildren.

Paul and Alyce were married June 30, 1947, in Holy Rosary Church in Moxee.

The couple has five children, Kristine Sims of Yakima, Scott Beaulaurier of Naselle, Wash., the Rev. Brooks Beaulaurier of Moses Lake, Wash., and Denielle Beaulaurier and Brent Beaulaurier of Yakima. They also have six grandchildren.

 

DeLozier -- 50 Years

Richard "Dick" and Marilyn DeLozier of rural Wapato will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary July 11.

Richard DeLozier and Marilyn Hall were married July 11, 1959, in Yakima.

Mr. DeLozier retired as a head supervisor after 32 years with Yakima County Public Works. Mrs. DeLozier retired as a teacher/counselor after 42 years with the Wapato School District.

The couple has two sons, Jim DeLozier and Rich DeLozier of Yakima. They also have five grandchildren.

 

Mills -- 40 Years

Don and Carol Mills of Yakima will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary in December during a family Christmas gathering in Arizona.

Don Mills and Carol Quinn were married July 12, 1969, in Yakima. They have lived in the area 30 years.

Mr. Mills owns Cost Less Energy. Mrs. Mills is a teacher.

The couple has two children, Michael Mills and Jason Mills, both of Flagstaff, Ariz. They also have three grandchildren.

 

Howley -- 35 Years

Billy and Arlene "Kay" Howley of Selah will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary July 6.

Billy Howley and Arlene Moser were married July 6, 1974, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Mr. Howley has lived in the area 38 years and Mrs. Howley is a lifelong resident.

Mr. Howley retired from the military and from Lee Peterson Motors. Mrs. Howley is a homemaker.

The couple has seven children, David, Don and Barbara, all of Yakima, Sherry of Selah, Billy Wade of Channelview, Texas, Dorothy of the Nile Valley and Jim of Mansfield, Ark. They also have 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

 

Martin -- 30 Years

Gary and Anita Martin of Yakima celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary with a weeklong Las Vegas vacation.

Gary Martin and Anita Zito were married June 2, 1979, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Yakima. They have lived in the area 49 years.

Mr. and Mrs. Martin own and operate Gary's Cleaning Service.

The couple has three children, Jennifer Martin and Jess Martin, both of Yakima, and Michelle Martin of Puyallup, Wash. They also have two grandchildren.
