YAKIMA, Wash. -- A fire that destroyed a house Monday in the 7900 block of Englewood Crest Drive likely started from an electrical arc, authorities announced Wednesday.
The 2:20 a.m. fire was driven by heavy winds and left eight people homeless, the Yakima Fire Department said.
Losses are estimated at $285,000. Investigators said they do not suspect arson. Laboratory testing is expected to verify whether the electrical equipment was to blame.
