WAPATO, Wash. -- Winning $100,000 may not be huge by lottery standards, but it will certainly help a Wapato couple faced with medical bills.

Ronny Hunt was presented with a check for that amount Tuesday at the state Lottery office in Yakima after the numbers on his Hit 5 ticket matched the winning ones. He bought the ticket at Crossroad Market at 4621 N. Track Road in Wapato.

His wife, Constance, has suffered from breast cancer for the past three years, and the money will help cover the costs, he told lottery officials.

"Our favorite word today is grateful," Constance Hunt said this week in a news release.
