Yakima Herald-Republic

PROSSER, Wash. -- Mosquito control officials plan to spray aerially tonight in the Lower Valley.

Weather permitting, Benton County Mosquito Control District crews will begin spraying at 9 tonight in Mabton and rural areas around Prosser, Grandview and West Richland.

The chemical they will use is Naled, labeled for use in residential and agricultural areas.

Officials recommend residents to cover bees and fish ponds, as well as wash fruits and vegetables that may be exposed to the spray. They also advise residents to stay indoors during spraying.
