NACHES, Wash. — A 27-year-old Yakima man was stabbed at a party in Naches early Sunday.
The stabbing occurred during an argument at a home in the 7800 block of South Naches Road shortly after 1 a.m., according to the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim and another man, a 26-year-old from the Toppenish area, were taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital after the incident. Neither man’s name or condition was released.
Deputies — as well as personnel from the Naches Fire Department and Advanced Life Systems — responded to the scene, where — deputies say — an argument took place over a woman.
After the stabbing, one man ran to a neighbor’s home where deputies say he broke into the house, injuring himself when crawling through a broken window. He was taken into custody at that home.
Upon release from the hospital, the 26-year-old was expected to be booked into the Yakima County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault and residential burglary.
