Helen J. Doggett

Helen Judith Doggett, 71, of Prosser died Friday at home. Mrs. Doggett was born and raised in Seattle, moved to Richland in the early 1980s and to Prosser in 1985. She had a long career in nursing and retired from the Kennewick School District in 2004.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Barnes Doggett of Prosser; five sons, William Doggett of Richland, James Doggett of Dallas, Martin Doggett of Pasco, Robert Barnes Doggett Jr. of Lake Chelan, Wash., and Kevin Doggett of Galveston, Texas; a brother, William Marti; three sisters, MaryAnn Sauvage, Sister Rosanna Marti and Flossie Campbell, all of Seattle; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. today in the Prosser Cemetery. Arrangements are by Prosser Funeral Home.

 

Lorna L. Millen

Lorna Llewellyn Millen, 84, of Yakima died Monday at Wynwood of Yakima. Mrs. Millen was born and raised in Yakima. She and her husband were founders of the Warehouse Theatre Company.

Survivors include two sons, David Millen of Anchorage, Alaska, and Steven Millen of Madras, Ore.; two daughters, Kimberly Brown of Ellensburg and Anne Hawkins of Yakima; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

At her request, there will be no formal services. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.

 

George W. Speerstra

George William Speerstra, 91, of Prosser died Monday in Sunnyside. Mr. Speerstra was born in Issaquah, Wash., and served in the Army. He worked more than 30 years as a machinist for The Boeing Co.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Speerstra of Prosser; a son, Gary Speerstra of Beaverton, Ore.; two daughters, Beverly Barnes of Auburn, Wash., and Karla Smith of Vancouver, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Marie Vandervies; three grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. Friday until time of the service at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday. Burial with military honors will follow in East Prosser Cemetery.
