Union Gap School kindergarten teacher Katy Larsen makes a last-minute adjustment to the mortarboard worn by Alejandra Castaneda before kindergarten graduation at the school on Thursday. The graduation was the last one for kindergartners in the school building, as students at the K-8 school will move to a new building in the fall. A portion of the current Union Gap School building was built in 1938 and has been expanded and remodeled numerous times since. On Thursday, 64 kindergartners “graduated” to the first grade.
