Union Gap School kindergarten teacher Katy Larsen makes a last-minute adjustment to the mortarboard worn by Alejandra Castaneda before kindergarten graduation there June 18, 2009. Thursday's graduation was the last one for kindergarteners in that school building; students at the K-8th grade school will move to a new building at the start of the next school year. A portion of the current Union Gap School building was built in 1938 and has been expanded and remodelled numerous times since. Thursday, 64 kindergarteners "graduated" to the first grade.
