WAPATO -- A serious-injury crash has closed southbound Highway 97 at Wapato.

The crash was reported about 8:30 p.m. near Progressive Road, south of Wapato.

The road may be closed until 11 p.m., according to a bulletin from the state Department of Transportation.

Detours via local roads are available to reach the highway on either end of the closure.
