YAKIMA, Wash. — The Union Gap man injured in a Friday bicycle crash remains in critical condition, Yakima police said Sunday afternoon.

Ronald Lizotte, 37, suffered severe head injuries and is being treated at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.

The pickup driver who hit Lizotte, 55-year-old Carlos Casillas of Yakima, was not hurt.

Police provided both men’s names in a news release issued Sunday.

Lizotte was riding a BMX-style bicycle across West Washington Avenue near Third Avenue when he was hit by Casillas’ Ford Ranger. Lizotte was crossing midblock  through stopped traffic when he pulled into the path of the eastbound pickup, police said.

Lizotte was not wearing a helmet.
