Wiley Heights hosts Alaska Christians
Wiley Heights Covenant Church is hosting the 2009 Pacific Northwest Tour for Alaska Christian College on Thursday night. The event includes testimonies, traditional Eskimo dancing, drama and singing. Many of the students at the school, located in Soldotna, Alaska, come from small and remote Alaskan villages.
A free will offering will be collected at the event, which takes place at 7 p.m. at the church, 12504 Gilbert Road. For more information, call the church office at 509-966-2383.
Franklin Hill Foursquare Church forms new groups
Franklin Hill Foursquare Church is starting three new small groups at the end of the month.
Beginning May 31, the church will be offering Eat to Live, a women's healthy eating group; Debt-Free Living, based on Dave Ramsey's teachings; and Life in the Spirit, focusing on exploring the power of the Holy Spirit.
Free child care will be provided. The groups meet at 6 p.m. Sundays at the church, 1705 W. Chestnut Ave. For more information, call the church at 509-469-3963.
Palestinian Christian to speak at Mt. Olive
Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Yakima welcomes guest speaker Aziz Sarah May 30-31.
Sarah is a Palestinian Christian from Jerusalem. He served as a minister for the Jerusalem and Bethlehem Churches of Christ from 2002-2008, when political problems caused he and his wife to relocate to the United States.
He has spoken at hundreds of universities, churches, synagogues and mosques on interfaith dialogue and the role of religion in reconciliation. He also serves as the Palestinian chairman for the Bereaved Families Forum, a group of 500 Israeli and Palestinian bereaved families who work for peace.
He will be speaking at an 8:30 a.m. breakfast at the church May 30. He will also speak at both services on May 31, as well as the Bible study in between. The services are at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The Bible study begins at 9:15 a.m.
All events are free at the church at 7809 Tieton Drive.

Author will be 'Opening A Window To The Soul'
Yakima's Unity Spiritual Life Center is hosting author Daeryl Holzer on May 31.
Holzer, author of "Opening A Window To The Soul: A Guide to Living Beyond the Human Drama," will speak at the 10:30 a.m. service May 31. The topic is "Staying Magical in the Midst of Fear."

Common Bond 5 plays in Wapato on May 30
Common Bond 5, a quintet from Wenatchee, will perform May 30 in Wapato.
The quintet is made up of Alan Williams, Stace Knudtson, Chuck Wiley, Andy Handley and Mike Moore. They primarily sing a mix of Southern Gospel and contemporary worship music.
The group formed in 2001 and has recorded and released five CDs. The most recent was "Let's Take a Walk with Jesus" in 2008.
Common Bond 5 has appeared in concert with groups such as The Kingsmen, Crossroads New Revival, Greater Vision and The Blackwood Brothers, among others.
The free concert is at 7 p.m. at the All Nations Center, 3020 Ashue Road in Wapato. A free will offering will be collected.
