YAKIMA, Wash. -- Would somebody really tell a bikini-clad barista that her outfit is inviting assault? Would somebody else offer a tip for a peek?
The answer to both questions is yes, according to Jody Green, co-owner of Moulin Brew, one of several new “sexpresso” stands that are getting a lot of attention in Yakima these days.
In an appearance Tuesday before the City Council, Green defended her business, located at 2412 S. First St. near the Valley Mall. (Watch the video)
She said her employees have been told by “really narrow-minded concerned citizens” that they’re “begging” to be raped because of the way they’re dressed.
“They’ve been told not to expect pity or compassion ... because they’re only getting what they deserve,” Green told the council.
Later, Green indirectly confirmed reports that men occasionally ask her employees to go the extra mile, so to speak, for a tip.
“I’ve heard my girls tell customers, ‘No, I won’t do that. I’m not a stripper and I’m not a prostitute.’ ”
Sounds like one of these days somebody might get the old McDonald’s-coffee-in-the-lap treatment, circa 1994.
