WHITE SALMON, Wash. -- A power-theft investigation led Klickitat County sheriff's deputies to an illegal marijuana-growing operation over the weekend, authorities announced Monday.
Deputies seized 111 marijuana plants and jailed a 50-year-old Sunnyside man on unrelated charges, according to a news release from the Klickitat County sheriff's office.
The investigation started Saturday afternoon when a sheriff's sergeant was called to a home in the 100 block of Snowden Lane, north of White Salmon, to investigate a reported power theft, authorities said.
After obtaining a search warrant, deputies discovered that the stolen power led to the growing area, according to the news release.
