Health services at the Yakama Nation will receive a new ambulance and new
x-ray and air-conditioning systems, thanks to $500 million in federal Indian Health funds being distributed nationwide.
The money is being provided under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and a portion of it will pay for 39 projects in Washington state, U.S. Sen. Patty Murray’s office announced Friday.
The X-ray and air-conditioning systems will replace old ones at the tribe’s Indian Health Service in Toppenish. The ambulance will go to the tribe’s ambulance service in White Swan.
