Mike Reilly’s disappointment at not getting drafted quickly faded as the former Central Washington University quarterback earned his NFL shot at the top of the heap.

Reilly agreed to terms with the Super Bowl-champion Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night, just hours after he was passed over in the seven-round draft.

“I’m very excited,” Reilly in a telephone interview. “It was a disappointment not to have been drafted, but at the end of the day, when all is said and done, I’m still gettting a chance and that’s all I’ve ever wanted in the first place.”

Reilly’s Wildcat teammate, tight end Jared Bronson, agreed to terms with the Miami Dolphins, Central coach Blaine Bennett said Sunday evening.

“It’s disappointing they didn’t get called in the draft, but it’s great for both of them,” Bennett said.

Former Eisenhower High and University of Washington center Juan Garcia also went undrafted, and as of late Sunday night, it wasn’t known if Garcia had received a free-agent offer from an NFL team.
